Chartwells Independent
Chartwells supply meals and housekeeping to independent schools all over the country and is relied upon in countless senior, prep and boarding schools. Their no compromise ethos is also expected in their staff’s appearance.
Chartwells called us on the back of a recommendation from one of their sister companies, Restaurant Associates. We learned the company were in the process of re-branding a whole new corporate image, known as the Whisk Project.
Chartwells knew exactly their requirements so it was easy to initially supply a range of garment samples to be assessed for quality and style. We then went on to produce the fully embroidered or tax tabbed uniform range for Management, Customer Service, Chefs, Porters and Stores. This collection included a wide range of garments, from Corporate suits, shirts, trousers and dresses to Hospitality aprons, polos, cargo pants and waistcoats, as well as an assortment of jackets and accessories.
“The teams all love their new uniform and clients love it as well.”
The feedback regarding Kylemark has been brilliant - the managers have said it is easy to order and individual named packages make it so much easier. Returns are easy and the company are great if there are any issues such as queries, sizes or missing items; the Kylemark team are very efficient.
Also the quality of the garments and the bespoke embroidery service to suit the needs of our individual schools has been outstanding. Nothing is too much trouble.
One manager with 30 years Compass service said, “It is the best Compass supplier I have ever dealt with.
”Many thanks for everything you have done to support the delivery of our new Chartwells Independent uniforms.”

Presenting the Range
Before we think about samples we create a virtual mock-up of each apron with all specifications. This is a great way for our clients to see the finished product allowing them to modify the This job was now passed to our factory floor where the apron components are laid out and cut. With 7 different fabric colours and styles used, time was taken to ensure every part of each apron was cut to spec.
Then it was time to start sewing. The first time with a new apron, especially ones as bespoke as these, takes slightly longer as our team of time served machinists work out the quickest and most efficient way of putting the pieces together. But once into their stride it was heads down to produce the near 400 aprons.design if necessary.Once this was signed off actual samples were created and shipped to the three Marlow restaurants.

Every piece of uniform was branded, whether with embroidery or tax tab; more than 20,000 garments.

Fulfilling the Order
